Our Story
Who are we?
We started this farming thing while both working for an airline which in hindsight may be a crazy idea. However with our backgrounds as veterans who have ongoing issues from injuries we know all too well about the importance of high quality food and it's use as medicine along with modern day medicine. With this becoming so important in our lives we decided to take the leap and figure out how to make things work. In the last year we've learned a lot with the help of some close friends and the internet. After our first two steers were a success we knew we had to continue and turn this dream into a full operation. Thank you to everyone who has purchased and supported our journey and the patience while we figure out how to improve along the way.
About our process
While we may not strictly buy all organic feed, we focus on clean ingredients that are bought locally. We use Cascade feed, an Oregon based company, and Premier Feeds where they mill everything onsite local in Silverton. We use Gartner's in NE Portland for all the cut and wrap. To supplement feed costs we have partnered with Ground Breaker Brewing in SE Portland to make use of all their spent grains which is a treat all the animals love! Supporting local companies may not be the cheapest way but it's something we value in order to produce the highest quality food that we can.
